Bronze Art Galleries

A photo delivery tool built around the work of a photographer.

Delivery is part of the photographic work

I photograph under the name Bronze Art. The gallery application grew from another part of that work: preparing a finished story for the people receiving it. They need to browse the photographs, download the files and make selections for an album. I need to review the delivery and keep its organisation clear.

I wanted those tasks to belong to the same photographic process. The public portfolio remains on Bronze Art; this project is the software behind client delivery.

From a folder to a finished delivery

One of the practical improvements came from my own use of the tool. Creating a gallery and adding its photographs needed to happen together, using an ordinary folder of finished JPEGs. The application now prepares those files in the browser, and subfolders can become chapters.

The photographer can review the cover, the sequence, the delivery note and the download files before publishing. Uploads can be resumed after an interruption. Adding photographs and replacing a complete set are separate actions, so an update can be prepared while the existing delivery remains available.

Photographs people can keep

Clients can view the story, download the final JPEGs and mark an album selection. The uploaded JPEGs are preserved; changing the chapter order or the presentation does not re-edit those files.

Large deliveries are divided into downloadable ZIPs. Those archives are assembled when requested, rather than requiring the photographer to prepare every download manually. The work is in making a substantial photographic delivery manageable at both ends.

Client access and the archive

Client access has a defined expiry date. Keeping a gallery in the photographer’s internal archive is a separate decision and does not extend the client’s access. Covers and public sharing text are also kept separate from personal delivery notes.

This is a tool used within Bronze Art’s workflow. Client delivery links and photographs are not published on this project page. A delivery link can be forwarded by its recipient, so link sharing still calls for care.
